The Stay-Ahead Reading & Writing Program offers 30-minute Reading and 30-minute Writing sessions focused on building essential skills in both reading and writing for middle school students (Grades 6-8).

Reading Program Highlights

Reading Fundamentals: Develop a strong foundation in reading, focusing on vocabulary, language development, comprehension strategies, text complexity, and diverse literature.
Reading Strategies: Learn effective strategies such as previewing, active reading, annotation, questioning, visualizing, making connections, and drawing conclusions.
Reading Practice: Improve vocabulary by learning words in context.

Writing Program Highlights

Writing Fundamentals: Build strong writing skills, focusing on grammar, punctuation, and sentence structure.
Writing Strategies: Master effective strategies like brainstorming, outlining, and editing for clear and cohesive essays and papers.
Writing Practice: Practice writing and receive constructive feedback to continuously improve writing skills.

Add your child and choose a program — Once logged in, click Add a child, then use our simple enrollment wizard to select the program and complete registration.
Receive your confirmation email — You will receive an email confirmation as soon as your child’s enrollment is complete.
We follow up with you — A branch staff member will call you to discuss next steps and get your child started on the program.
